Rollins-PCI Construction Recognized by Smart CEO as a Regional Growth Leader

Inc 500 Announces Rollins-PCI Construction is #61 on the 2007 Inc 500 List

Inc 500 Announces Rollins-PCI Construction is #61 on the 2007 Inc 500 List

#2 Commercial General Contractor in the entire U.S.
Rollins-PCI Construction has been recognized with the distinct honor of being # 61 on the 2007 Inc. 500 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America. Past Inc. 500 honorees include Microsoft, Google and Domino’s Pizza. More impressive is that Rollins-PCI ranks as the second-fastest growing Commercial General Contractor in the nation. This award adds to a growing list of honors earned recently by Rollins-PCI Construction for growth and entrepreneurial spirit

A significant amount of credit for the explosive growth can be attributed to the leadership and laser-like focus of President, Barry Lake. However, ample remaining credit remains with the commitment and flexibility of the staff, led by John Ford and the talented Project Management team, Chris Greaney and his Business Development team and the dedication of the field staff and supporting office staff.

When Barry Lake acquired Rollins Construction Company & Precision Commercial Interiors in 2004, renaming and branding the 2 distinct firms as Rollins-PCI Construction at that time, he was taking over what was primarily a $3 million drywall sub-contractor that also performed as a General Contractor for one major client. With vision and execution, Lake and his team established its Mission Statement to be a Top 10 General Contractor in the region by 2013. The theme of the Mission Statement was also to employ a smart-growth plan by focusing exclusively on corporate interiors and base-building construction projects for Blue-Chip clients only in the National Capital Region and Baltimore.

With the hard work of setting a vision for the future complete, the Rollins-PCI team went about the work of establishing and growing relationships with some of the finest Blue-chip companies in the region. Initially, those relationships were with banks such as Chevy Chase, and PNC, but many additional Banks now populate its client stable such as Bank of America, Provident Bank, American Partners Bank, BB&T & Citigroup/Smith Barney. In addition, other Blue-chip clients include The Regus Group, Starbucks Coffee Company, Womble Carlyle LLP & Optical Society of America.

The results speak for themselves, and with this announcement, it is clear that Inc. Magazine took notice. The Inc. 500 List recognizes the nation's fastest-growing private companies, and in three short years, Rollins-PCI Construction has earned its spot on that list. Rollins-PCI Construction and its leadership have not let all the recognition go to its collective heads, “there’s still work to be done, and we have our eyes set on achieving our long-term goal; that is to be a Top 10 General Contractor by 2013,” said Lake. He went on to say, “these awards are great, but they only measure short-term progress towards achieving our long-term goal.” In addition the prestigious Inc. 500 recognition, Barry Lake, was recently nominated as a finalist in the prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year competition sponsored by Ernst & Young.
